Diversity and inclusion is baked into organizational culture through both external and internal narratives

An organizational culture that clearly values diversity and inclusion is formed by narratives and experiences that organizations craft and create both externally and internally. These are shaped by essential policies around diversity and inclusion issues including equity, harassment, safety, ethics, and accessibility. The DAT goes further to closely examine internal values and working environments by considering factors like an organization’s mission statement, norms, social events, and accommodation processes. Each of these pieces, plus many others, have an impact on the experiences of diverse employees, stakeholders, and customers.
